The Power of Six and Dueled

I have not written in a LONG time, but I'm back again with 2 new books. My first book is...

The Power of Six, by Pittacus Lore.
Rating: 5 stars

This book is GREAT! It's about 3 aliens and 1 human who are trying to defeat another alien race from destroying Earth. They only have numbers, in this case, 4, 6,and 7. The human is a nerd called Sam, whose dad was abducted by aliens.  4,6, and Sam are trying to survive with the police chasing after them when they are accused of being terrorists. 7 is stuck in an orphanage/church in Spain, and is begging her caretaker to leave. Both know that the REAL problems is fighting the evil race of Modgrorians.
The Power of Six was great because it is filled with action, suspense, and a little bit of romance. You always wonder what will happen next, and if one of the characters will make it through the next obstacle.
To anyone who is interested in getting this book, it has a few bad words, and you should read the first book, I am Number Four, if you want this book to make any sense. Other than that,GET THIS BOOK!!!

Now for the second book...

Dualed, by Elsie Chapman.
Rating: 4 stars

Oh, this book is hard to explain. Let's say there are 2 of you, both exact copies. You live in separate places, separate lives. One day, between the ages of 11 and 21, you and your Alt (the copy of you) has gotten an assignment. You have one month to kill your Alt before he/she kills you. If you don't both of you self destruct. What a wonderful world!
This was a good book, but it was confusing. It skips 20 DAYS, and then explains the rest of the ten days in painstaking detail. The girl in this story, West Grayer, is not the average person on the block. She is the last Grayer, and she is a Striker, which means that  she kills other people's Alts for money.
WARNING:Dualed is a very VIOLENT book. It says gun on almost every page! Make sure that you can handle lots of blood and weapons before reading this book.

So, the next time I finish a book, I won't be lazy about writing a review. Cha-cha for now!

Little Blog on the Prairie

Sorry, I didn't keep my word of  being back on Thursday. Luckily, I'm back with a new book by the name of...

This was a GREAT book! It's about a girl named Genevieve Welsh, who's mother decides to take her out of her normal (now phone filled) life, and cart her whole family out to a camp where everyone lives like it's 1890. However, Genevieve sneaks her new phone out to the camp and secretly texts her friends the entire summer and they create a website based on her texts. But when her phone dies, she uncovers a secret that know one is supposed to know about ( except for moms addicted to Diet Coke)
Like I said, GREAT book. It's sarcastic, funny, and  sounds exactly like a girl who is stuck in a puffy dress with only an annoying brother, a girl as mean as Nellie Olsen, and a cell phone to keep her company.I couldn’t put it down, and finished in a matter of 2 days. I also liked the touch of romance.
And now a bit of the book to get you interested. Before I knew it, Betsy had me out of my jean shorts, my Chucks, and the Yosemite T-shirt I'd bought at Urban Outfiters, and into more clothes than I would normally wear in a week. There was a kind of tank top thing she called a bib;a petticoat, which is a kind of skirt you  you wear underneath your other skirt;pantaloons, which are pants you wear instead of underwear-they open in the back so you don't have to pull them down when going to the bathroom; and wool stockings, which are very long socks that button onto straps hanging from the bib. Over everything, you wear a long wool dress that weighs as much as ten algebra textbooks.
Hope to write another post again soon. 'Til then, ta-ta!

Scumble

I've been gone for a while, so sorry about that. There's a new book I've read, and it's called....

Scumble, by Ingrid Law

Although this is not in a series, it is related to Savvy. You may find that the book will be a whole lot more understandable if you read that first. This book is about how a boy named Ledger Kale has a very destructive savvy( a savvy is a special power that a few families have. Each savvy is different.) With only a stopwatch and a tire the victim, Ledger's family decides it is safe enough to head to a wedding. However the first thing he does is blow up the barn! As the entire city would be in danger, Ledger's parents are forced to leave him at the farm until he can scumble. (Scumbling is controlling your powers) To make matters even worse, someone has seen his unusual family, someone who is a newspaper reporter for the natural, someone by the name of Sarah  Jane.Ledger now has to scumble AND stop Sarah Jane from revealing his secret.

I loved this book! It is unlike any other book I have read. ( Except for Savvy) Sure, there are books about families with super powers , but what about one where they aren’t super heroes, but people trying to fit in while trying not to sneeze and go 5 minutes back in the past. I never said that the powers were helpful.

Well that was a pretty good comeback! I am planning to post again on Thursday, so check back then!
