Level 2

I've been really busy, so I didn't have much time for blogging, but I'm here now with a new book called...

Level 2, by Lenore Appelhans
Rating: Four Stars

Level 2 is about a girl named Felicia who died the day before turning 18. She has been stuck in a plain afterlife, looking at memories of her life in chambers. Everything changes when her best friend, Beckah starts wailing about how she's dying. Felicia looks into Beckah's chamber, but when she returns, Beckah's gone and nobody else seems to remember anything about what just happened. She learns that God's Angles are unhappy with their conditions and are keeping everyone from going to heaven. Felicia has two choices: go off on her own  and look for her boyfriend Neil, with dangerous creatures and fumes on the loose; or join the rebels and learn to move on.
This book is unlike any other. It is full of her memories on Earth, which explains her twisted and scarred life. You keep wondering along with Felicia if there is more to the afterlife than staring at memories for eternity. Read Level 2 if you enjoy romance, mystery, or wonder about what comes after death. Hope to post again sooner than later...Bye!

Butter

I have a new book to share with you! Now presenting...

Butter,by Erin Jane Lange
Rating:Four Stars
Butter is the opposite of Twilight. The plot is simple, but the writing makes it a great book. It's about a severely obese high school boy who weighs 425 pounds. Everyone calls him Butter, but many don't even know the reason why. Butter makes a website called www.butterslastmeal.com and promises to eat himself to death live on New Year's Eve.  By "eat himself to death", he means eat so much he dies. The whole school hears about it, and Butter goes from the fat kid to the popular kid. But it's sad that's only because he's planning to KILL himself. That's the plot all the way to the end of the book.

The writing is GREAT! It had twists and turns, and you keep wondering if he's actually going to eat himself to death. It is full of detail, and puts you in the life of a high school boy. It was unlike any book I have ever read. Read it, and you'll agree.

Warning: I got this book in the Young Adult section, so it does have some bad words.
I have ANOTHER book that I finished, so check back tomorrow!

New Mooon

Like I said, I'm back with another book. this one is...

New Moon, by Stephenie Myer
Rating:Four Stars
This sequel to Twilight shows just how much of a drama queen Bella is. Edward is moving, and breaks up with her"for her own good" . Instead of crying occasionally like a normal lovesick girl, she goes into a 5 month depression. She slowly returns to reality when she begins to want to be reckless. Reckless is the only word she describes Bella as, not daring or careless or even brash (look it up). So Bella buys a trashed motorcycle and asks Jacob to fix it. They become closer, and even though Jacob is head over heels for Bella, she refuses to love anyone but Edward, who ditched her. Another reckless thing she decides to do is cliff diving, and Edward hears about it. Meanwhile, Bella's father's  friend dies and her dad goes to his funeral. Edward calls and Jacob picks it up and tells him that her dad is "at the funeral". Edwards assumes Bella died from the cliff fall, and the plot, once again, goes off track. It's now Edward's turn to turn Drama King and goes to Italy and asks vampires to kill him. Read more to find out what happens. P.S. If you are wanting more Twilight reviews, don't get your hopes up, because my Mom won't let me read the final books. Also, check back tomorrow for a review on Butter!

The Rise of Nine

Once again, back with another book. the sequel to I am Number Four and The Power of Six is...
                                                      http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/7/79/The_rise_of_nine_official_book_cover.jpg/220px-The_rise_of_nine_official_book_cover.jpg
The Rise of Nine, by Pittacus Lore
Rating: Four stars
This book is about the people of the planet  Lorian coming together to fight the evil aliens called Mogadorians. One, Two, and Three are dead. Four is a cautious boy who will do anything for what he loves. Six is a daring girl, and one of the best fighters of her group. Seven is  a girl, and is is far behind on the knowledge of her heritage and powers, because her caretaker was so unwilling to train her. Eight is a boy in India who everyone calls a god. He has many followers that protect him from attacks. Nine is an arrogant boy, and reckless after being locked in a prison cell for a year. Ten is a small girl who has not developed her powers yet. However, an Elder gave her the ability to change ages. No one knows where Five is.

I found this book not the best of the series. With no actual point other than what we know from the previous books, The Rise of Nine seems to be about learning more about the characters than anything. Would of gone better in the first than the last book. Also, the book ends with nothing accomplished. So  perhaps Pittacus has put the ending in Six's Legacy, Nine's Legacy, or The Fallen Legacies, which are books that give even more background on the characters. I've finished another book, so make sure to check back tomorrow!

Twilight

I'm back with a book that almost everyone knows about...
            http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs45/i/2009/143/a/c/Twilight_Cover_WIP_by_lovechin88.jpg
 Twilight, by Stephenie Myer
Rating: Three and a half stars

Now, I know there's that big rivalry between Harry Potter and Twilight, but I can't see why. Harry Potter has plots with mysterious backgrounds,  while Twilight has a good plot, but nothing underneath. Harry Potter has a good mix of funny, serious, dramatic, and upbeat sentences, and it looks as though Stephenie Myer has a hat with different kinds of sentences and draws one out without looking. It's all so RANDOM! So....Harry Potter wins!

Twilight is about a girl named Bella who moves to a small and green town called Forks. On the first day of her school, she sees a boy named Edward, who seems to dislike her. Instead of being a bit confused as most people would do, Bella is terrified. The next day, Edward seems nicer to her, and he almost immediately reveals that he is a vampire. So much for being a secret keeper. Then they fall in love. Even if you have never heard of this before, I'm pretty sure THAT wasn't a surprise.  Then Edward invites her to a vampire baseball game. Take me out to the ball game, with a vampire, they drink blood, that's a fact, I don't think I'll ever come back! Then some other vampires come along and find Bella. Edward knows that they want her blood, so he hides her in Phoenix. The plot completely changes, and now Bella and her vampire friends are on the run.

Four words: Good Plot, Bad writing. The plot is the only reason I want the next book, New Moon. Like I said, the sentences are random and usually in the wrong places. the plot itself has suspense, romance, and adventure, but you have to dig down through the writing to find that.
Now, the cover has an apple on it, and I have NO idea why. If you know, please leave a comment that says why. Thanks!

Disney After Dark

I'm back with a new book...yeah, I read pretty fast. Well this book is...
                                               http://img1.imagesbn.com/p/9781423123118_p0_v2_s260x420.JPG
Kingdom Keepers, Disney After Dark by Ridley Pearson
Rating: 5 stars

I bet you were interested the moment you saw the title! The reason I read this book so quickly was because it was GREAT! I actually borrowed this from my friend, because I have NO books to read right now other than reading Harry Potter for the 20th time. Anyway, Kingdom Keepers is actually a series, and Disney After Dark is the first one. It's about 5 kids who have holograms that look like just like themselves. The holograms guide people through Disney World. However, the program seems to have a nasty side effect. When the kids go to sleep, they appear in Hologram form at Disneyworld. Normally awesome, it's not a great way to have Disney to yourself. Because how can you have the park to yourself when all the Disney villains come alive and try to take over the world?
READ THIS BOOK if you like action, adventure, Disney, sci-fi, fantasy, technology, or night-time wanderings.  If you don't like any of those things in a book, what DO you like?
